LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE
The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course is a
top notch training class for those desiring to be lifeguards.
Participants must be 15 years old before completion of
this course and must complete these three prerequisite
swimming skills before continuing with this class:
1. 500 yard continuous swim including 100 yard each of HIGH TIDES DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM
crawl, side stroke, and breast stroke
2. Submerge to 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object Monday/Wednesday/Friday
3. Tread water for 2 minutes, legs only Session 1: January 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 22, 24, 27
Fee includes a mask, required Session 2: February 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28
Session 3: April 1, 3, 6, 8, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24

SHARKS:
Swimmers should demonstrate mastery of the skills from
Tigers program to enter the Sharks program. This in-
cludes development of proper stroke technique, starts
and turns. Swimmers will continue to improve their stroke
skills in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke with the
goal of competitive swimming. Butterfly stroke will be in-
troduced. Some endurance and set swimming will be
done in this program, but the focus will still be on teach-
