YOUTH/TEEN ACTIVITIES
HUTCHINSON SHOTOKAN KARATE
Hutchinson Shotokan Karate Club, offers training in the traditional style of Shotokan Karate.
Through continued training the student (karateka) will increase coordination, concentration, flexi-
bility, strength, agility, stamina, and self-confidence. Training will include basic and combination
techniques (Kihon), forms (Kata), sparring (Kumite), competition training and self-defense. Chief
Instructor: Sensei Patrice Vander Veen Yondan (4th degree black belt) & Assist.
Instructor: Hillary Vander Veen Nidan (2nd degree black belt).
Locations: West Elementary Gym
Classes will not meet: Oct. 19, 31, Nov. 23 and when school closes early or is cancelled.

INTRODUCTION TO HAPKIDO
This class is an introduction to the Korean Art of self defense. Sah Bu Nim Corey has a
4th degree Blackbelt in Hapkido and will get you started learning the Arts powerful kicks,
strikes, escapes, chokes, pressure points, throws, joint-locks and meditation. You will be
amazed by how easy it can be to stop an attacker. This is a fun hands-on course, wear
something comfortable.
